HIKING IN THE ALPS: CHAMONIX VALLEY
This French town in the shadow of Europe's summit Mont Blanc is the meeting point of nature lovers whole year round. We have a holiday full of pleasant hiking routes from glaciers to mountain lakes and a close look at the history written around Lake Geneva.
Day 1:
Freiburg, Basel, Bern, Chamonix
4,5 hours drive, 350 km 4 hours easy city walk.
After meeting at Freiburg / Basel Airport, we move to Bern, perhaps the most beautiful city of Switzerland. Our Chamonix journey begins after a trip to the historical city center, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. We rise to the town at 1,100 meters with the Alpine mountains. Our accommodation will be in chalets with classical Alpine architecture and it is perfect to have a pleasant time. Dinner and free time after settling in the hotel.
Day 2:
Mer de Glace Hike
Our hike today is to Mer de Glace, the largest glacier in France, and back to the town. The glacier, stretching between the summits of Grépon and Moine, is fed by the snow of many summits, including Mont Blanc. After the break we will give at Le Montenvers station, we start our return. With the walk from the skirts of the Plan Summit, we have a wonderful view of Chamonix. After taking a break in Refuge du plan de l'aiguille and enjoying the view, we go down from the forest on the ridges of Chamonix. After a rest, dinner and free time.
7 hours of medium difficulty hike, 19 km. (half can be made with gondola) 1.365 mt ascent, 1.365 mt descent.
Day 3:
Lac Blanc Hike
5 hours of medium difficulty hike, 8 km. 488 mt ascent, 488 mt descent
After breakfast, for the Lac Blanc walk, we first take the cable car to La Flégère station. We continue our walk starting from here to Lac Blanc. The lake, where you can watch the breathtaking view of the Alps, is at 2,352 meters and offers incredible views of Mont Blanc and its mountain ranges. The walking program that will be shaped according to the condition of the group can be extended and shortened if desired. At the end of the walk we return to Chamonix center and meet for dinner, and then free time.
Day 4:
Montreux, Lausanne, Neuchatel, Basel, Freiburg
5 hours drive, 400 km. 4 hours easy city walk.
After breakfast, which is our return day, we leave our hotel and set out to visit the cities of Montreux and Lausanne which are located around Lake Geneva. After listening to the stories of the lake and seeing the magnificent hotels on the edge of the lake, which hosted many historical treaties, we pass to Basel / Freiburg Airport.
