LAPLAND: ROVANIEMI VE NORTHERN LIGHTS
Lapland is one of the most magical places of winter fairy tale. We will listen to the story of Santa Klaus' journey from Demre to Rovaniemi. While doing deer safari, we will learn how the Sami people live under difficult conditions and travel to the depths of the boreal forests with dog sleds. We will have a great experience with Sampo Icebreaker and push the limits of adrenaline with snowmobile. The desolate beauty of Saariselka and the mysterious green lights above us.
Day 1:
Rovaniemi
15 minutes drive, 10 km. 2 hours easy walk.
After meeting at Rovaniemi Airport, we will settle in our hotel in Rovaniemi center and have dinner after a short orientation tour. After the meal, hunt for northern lights.
Day 2:
Sampo Icebreaker Tour
An unforgettable journey in Botnia Bay with the Sampo Icebreaker Ship, is our main event today. We will learn about the operation of icebreaker ships, accompanied by the roaring noises made by the 3,500-ton massive steel structure while moving on ice. After the tour, where we will also experience ice water swimming with special clothes, we return to our hotel and proceed to the restaurant designated for dinner. After the meal, our hunt for northern lights begins.

Day 3:
Rovaniemi, Saariselkä
3 hours drive, 260 km. 1 hour easy walk.
After breakfast, we move to “Santa Claus Village”. After meeting Santa Claus here, we have the chance to walk to the Arctic Circle and send cards to our loved ones. After lunch, our journey to Saariselkä, which is further north, begins. With an average of 200 nights of northern light annually, Saariselkä is one of the most preferred places for light hunters. After arriving at our hotel, dinner and the hunt for the northern lights.
Day 4:
Dogsled tour and Ice Fishing
1 hour drive, 1 hour easy walk.
After breakfast, our dog sled event starts. You will listen to interesting stories about wildlife as you proceed with traditional transportation modes of husky dogs and sleds in Lapland's vast steppes. Lunch after the tour and ice fishing, another Lapland classic. We will have the opportunity to search for trout and arctic salmon in the frozen lakes and eat what we hold according to our luck. We return to our hotel at the end of the activities. We take advantage of the sauna and hot pool facilities and go to the hunt for northern light after dinner.
Day 5:
Ivalo, Sámi Villages, Reindeer Safari
4 hours drive, 2 hours easy walk.
The main theme of today is the Sámi People, Lapland natives and their local life. We get to know the geography they live in and listen to their stories about reindeer breeding, which are their main sources of income. With the deer safari we will do, we witness how they have been able to cope with tough nature for centuries. After visiting one Sami Museum, we attend the traditional Sami food event in Inari. After the meal, we hunt for the northern lights and return to our hotel.
Day 6:
Return
2,5 hours drive, 300 km.
After breakfast, move to Rovaniemi Airport and say goodbye to you.
