LOFOTEN ISLANDS FISHING VILLAGES SUMMER TOUR

When summer comes to Lofoten, a big rush begins. The never-sinking sun gives all the colors of the universe to the Lofotenians in this short time interval. You enjoy some shades of green here for the first time. Colorful fishing villages, fishermen sailing one after another, intense culture and art life, arctic surfers, and photography…

Day 1:

Evenes, Svolvær

2,5 hours drive, 165 km.

Arrival to Narvik / Harstad Airport at 15:00 local time with a transfer via Oslo. Meeting with the guide at the airport and leaving for Svolvær where we will be staying. At the end of the trip, which takes about 3 hours of breathtaking views, a short Svolvær tour before settling in the hotel and before dinner.

Day 2:

Henningsvær Hike, Borg Viking Museum

After breakfast at the hotel, move to the charming fishing town of Henningsvær, which was formed as a result of connecting dozens of islands with bridges. Henningsvær is also known for its dozens of painters and writers. It is also a world famous place with its stadium built on the seafront on the rocks. After our walk and art gallery visit, we go to the Lofotr Viking Museum. The museum, where you can get to know Viking life closely, has a very good reputation.

2 hours drive. 4 hours medium difficulty hike, 12,5 km. (200 mt. ascent, 200 mt. descent)

Day 3:

Unstad, Ballstad, Haukland, Nusfjord

3 hours drive, 130 km. 3 hours easy hike.

Our first stop in the morning is Unstad and Haukland Beaches. These two beaches are frequented by North Pole surfers. After spending time on the beaches for a while, we move to Ballstad, the biggest fishing village of Lofoten Islands. Here we go hunting for cod fish, which has been the main source of income for the Lofoten Islands for centuries. At the end of our 1.5 hour tour, after cooking and eating what we keep, we move to Nusfjord, one of the most beautiful villages of Lofoten, surrounded by mountains. Nusfjord, where we will stay, is one of the best preserved fishing villages of Lofoten. After dinner, dinner and a short walk after dinner.

Day 4:

Kvalvika, Reine, Å i Lofoten

1,5 hours drive. 3 hours easy hike, plus it can be extended to another 3 hours difficult hike.

The world-famous Kvalvika Beach is one of the places we will see on this day as we move towards the end of the island. We take a walk to the beach without vehicle access accompanied by breathtaking views of the Lofoten Mountains. After the walk, we move to Reine town and Sakrisøya Island, which host the best views of the Lofoten Islands. Then we have an optional walk to Reinebringen where you can definitely see the best view of Lofoten. After the walk, we arrive at Å i Lofoten, the last village where the road at the end of the archipelago ends, and our accommodation is here. Dinner and free time after settling in the hotel.

Day 5:

Bodø, Return

3,5 hours ferry ride, 30 minutes drive.

After breakfast, we go to Bodø by ferry according to our flight time and make our flight to Oslo Airport.
