SOUTH ICELAND SUMMER ADVENTURE
Iceland is one of the rare countries that offers breathtaking views in every season of the year. On the island, which is the fruit of the mystical combination of fire and ice, enormous glaciers, lava caves, huge waterfalls, powerful volcanoes, vast beaches, geothermal pools will be with us throughout our trip. Together with the dizzying colors created by the midnight sun, Iceland will remain alive in your memories throughout your life.
Day 1:
Reykjavik
1 hour drive, 50 km.
After meeting at Keflavik Airport, transfer to the hotel in Reykjavik city center. After settling in the rooms, information about the tour program and dinner. A short orientation tour after the meal.
Day 2:
Golden Circle: Þingvellir National Park, Gulfoss, Geysir
Today we will follow the most famous route of Iceland, known as "Golden Circle”. Our first stop is the Þingvellir National Park, which is the fault line between the American and European continents and hosts the world's first parliament. Afterwards, we continue to "Golden Waterfall" Gulfoss. Our next stop is Geysir, the ancestor of geysers. On the way back, we stop by Kerid Crater and Lake, a volcano that erupted 3000 years ago. At the end of the tour, we return to our hotel.
3,5 hours drive, 250 km. 1 hour easy walk.
Day 3:
Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Reynisfjara, Kalfafell
4 hours drive, 300 km. 5 hours easy walk in the nature.
Our program today takes place in the south of Iceland. Seljalandsfoss Waterfall that takes its source from the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Glacier, the Skogafoss Waterfall, famous for its cave behind it, the Lava Museum, where we can learn Iceland geography closely, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Sólheimasandur Airplane Wreck, Green Lava Land and Fjaðrárgljúfuru Canyon. After settling in our hotel in Kalfafell, dinner and free time.
Day 4:
Skaftafell, Svartifoss, Hof Church, Jokulsarlon
3 hours drive, 200 km. 4 hours medium difficulty hike.
We start the day with Skaftafell National Park and Glacier, formed by volcanoes, strong rivers and waterfalls. We will witness an extraterrestrial geography with the walk up to the glacier. On the way back, we take a short walk to the Svartifoss Waterfall surrounded by basal columns. The next stop is the Hof Church, last surviving grass covered church in Iceland. After a short break here, we continue to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lake. While witnessing the voyage of the glacier pieces that are broken off from the Vatna Glacier, we get the chance to see the seals. Then we return to our hotel and take our dinner.
Day 5:
Dyrhólaey, Hveragerði Greenhouses, Blue Lagoon, Reykjavik
5 hours drive, 400 km. 2 hours easy walk in the nature.
Today, our return journey to Reykjavik begins. On our route, there is Hveragerði greenhouses which is like an oasis in a geography like Iceland where there is not much opportunity, Dyrhólaey Lighthouse with a fascinating view that sees black beaches from the top and extends towards the ocean. After having a lunch break here, after walking among the enormous lava fields and purple lupines in Reykjanes National Park, we arrive at the hot spring Blue Lagoon, famous for its azure water. After getting tired of the hot pools on the last day of our program, we move to our hotel in Reykjavik city center. Then we move to the restaurant for dinner.
Day 6:
Return
1 hour drive, 50 km.
Transfer to the Keflavik Airport in the morning and say goodbye to you.
